George would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday.  I would like to take this opportunity to thank George for all he has done and continues to do not only for our club but for our hobby Thank you George

We were honored to have three members of the Circle City Flyers and the president of the Torrey pines Gulls join us for the third and final glider tow event held at Johnson field this year. Ron Cherry and Ron Hurwit accompanied Earl Moseley who displayed his impressive scratch built Hall Cherokee II. In conversation with Earl he indicated that he had built a number of full scale Cherokees back in the day.

Its October!  We are getting near the end of the year.  With the end of the year comes the final club contests and sponsored events, budget talks, officer nominations and of course Christmas/Holliday dinner. Ok, the first shall be last!  It has been reported to me by our Curtis Kitteringham, that he, and Secretary David Truax, have finished the arrangements for the Christmas/Holliday Dinner.  An announcement should appear in this issue letting you know how much the tickets will cost and when and where you can purchase them.  This year as in the recent past, the dinner will be catered.  The meal will feature Turkey and either Roast Beast or Ham with all the trimmings so buy your tickets!

May is upon us! The Fallbrook Air Fair has come and gone and this month we have some exciting events!

Its April!  This month we had our first Combat meet and some of us participated in the first “Dawn Patrol of the season up at the Gillman Springs Club.  Many of you noticed that we have a new gate entrance and the first Club Glider Tow event is scheduled for Saturday, April 11. 2009!  And yes its sanctioned with a NOTAM and FAA flight restriction waiver! Finally, the planning for the Helicopter Fun-Fly seems to be coming along fine and Bob Peterson is working out the final details of the upcoming Fixed Wing Interclub Fun Fly Events.

As we enter into March its time to start getting ready for many of our upcoming club events. So far this month we had our first Combat builda-thon, our first Youth event.  Many of the event organizes have reported to the Board at the last meeting, their progress on their upcoming events.

Its 2009!  What a great year we had in 2008, but I will let you read all about it in the archive “Transmitters”! This month’s column will be short and sweet. As many of you know Sean O’Conner has resigned as Editor in Chief in favor of having more time to fly both in leisure and in events.  Frank Bataglia has volunteered to fill Sean’s rather large shoes.  This process is a bit of a transition in which Frank is learning the process under Sean’s expert guidance.  Anyway, that’s why this month’s transmitter was not able to be in print in time for last week’s January General Club Meeting.  But bear with us as we get it all together!
