Our Fall Jet Rally on November 13 was a huge success. We had over 20
pilots in attendance and the special demonstrations by the Blackstar Canyon Precision Team and Eric Maglio with his F 35 VTOL were amazing to watch. A big thank you to Vic Lerum and Dave Ellis for running the event. It will definitely be back next year........continued

The Good...The Bad...and The Ugly....
The Good... November brings some exciting happenings at the club...
Our annual Club auction is on Saturday November 6 at 0900. Auctioneer Extraordinaire, George Dawe, again will be wringing the last nickel out of our notoriously "cheap" members for the many gems ( both pristine and in the rough) that have been so graciously donated this year. Let myself or any board member know if you still have items to donate.
November 13 will be our 2nd EDF Jet Rally ...registration begins at 0800 and we take to the skies at 0900. $25 landing fee will get you in the raffle for 2 free EDF Jets and a barbeque lunch. A Special Jet Demonstration team from Orange County will be doing some pretty spectacular formation flying...you don't want to miss it.

As I sit here and write this month's column, I am watching a beautiful thunderstorm pass my window dropping a bucket of much needed rain. Hal is probably not going to be happy if he needs to mow again.
With October comes cooler fall weather and a number of items on
our calendar. First Saturday, October 2, is our monthly Aerotow. Come fly your glider or sail plane or just come watch the majestic birds soaring above our field. Only gliders or sail planes after 11:30. The next day, October 3, we will have Trifecta from 9:00 - 10:00.

Field Search Team Update
Your field search team consists of Bill Hill, Joe Villarreal, Jim Christy, Eric Armstrong, Chris Wilson, Rick Hilton, and Steve Gebler.
As you may know, we have been meeting regularly to exchange ideas and to investigate potential new locations for our club. This has not been an easy task as finding flat, 25+ acres in the area are nearly impossible.

On July 24th PRCF lost a good friend and Past President....Jim Jenkins. As a Board member under Jim, I remember the enthusiasm and creativity he brought to our club, especially with his end of year awards. Jim did a lot of different things throughout his life and when a need was there, he knew just what to do to get it done. RIP Jim...we will all miss you.
I have invited our Vice President, Chris Avellino, to contribute a safety message to this month's column.
July 2021 President's Message

As we hit the half year mark in 2021, June has been a very busy month. First, a big thank you and goodbye to our club president, Chris Thompson. Your hard work, leadership and friendship will be missed by all. Good luck and Godspeed to you and Lisa on your move to Texas.
The Board of Directors and our membership has nominated me to fill the office of President for the remainder of this year. I look forward to hitting the ground running (or stumbling) and with a little help, having a great second half of 2021.

I would like to congratulate BIll Hill for winning model of the month with his recently refurbished Fokker DR-1. I would like to thank DGO paving for cleaning and resurfacing our runway. They patched some holes and valleys and did a great job re-striping the runway.
The Heli-Fun-Fly is coming up soon. It should be a spectacular event. Chris Wilson and Scott Dedic, along with many others, have been working diligently behind the scenes to prepare for the event. Come out and enjoy the event and support our Heli flyers. Just a reminder, the fixed wing field will be closed for the Heli-Fun-Fly from 12 noon, June 10th through Sunday June 13th.

It was really nice seeing everyone who could make it to the club meeting. We have
some really fun events planned for the coming year. We will be raffling off another plane at the next meeting at the field. All members who can be at the club meeting will get a raffle ticket. If you see Hal Meeker at the field, please thank him for the work he has been doing (mowing, trimming and spraying for weeds). The field looks wonderful.

be held at the field on a Saturday morning. The next meeting will be February
20th at 9am. Model of the month will also be resuming next month.
Not only will we be selecting model of the month, members are encouraged
to share any new projects they are working on.

I would like to thank the members for allowing me to head up the board as president in the coming new year. I am excited to see what the new year brings in our hobby. Our club has had such amazing leadership over the years. It is with great respect and admiration that I would like to extend a huge “thank you” to our outgoing president, Steve Gebler. Steve has shown a love for the hobby, and even more for our club and its members.
