Valley Center Visitation this Saturday 01/25/2025
As Charles indicated at our meeting on the 18th we need to be prepared to move as early as May to the Valley Center field.
As mentioned in the meeting, we will be holding an open invitation to come to the field and give the board your opinions and suggestions of what you would like to see in the new home of Palomar Flyers.
The board will be at the field from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM to gather your input. Please note I confused the months on last communication. The correct day of the meeting is this Saturday January 25th.
• Directions to Valley Center from Johnson field are:
• On your phone put in the address 14005 Cole Grade Lane, Valley Center, CA. 92082.
• From the field turn left on Hwy 76 12 miles
• Turn right on Cole Grade Road. 5.9 miles
• Turn right on Cole Grade LN. shortly after crossing Hilldale Rd you will see a couple of porta-potties turn right on Cole Grade Ln.
• Proceed to the address 14005 Cole Grade Lane approximately a quarter mile. Continue on the dirt road until you get to the top of the ridge. You will see a junk car on the left KEEP GOING. Look for a sign on the right side of the road indicating Palomar RC Flyers.
The combination for the lock is on the back of your membership badge.
I WILL BE LEAVING JOHNSON FILED AT 8:15 IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO FOLLOW ME.

PLANE STUCK IN A TREE IN THE JUNGLE?

Got a plane or anything else stuck in a tree in the Jungle? I treed an Apprentice last Monday and spent several hours trying to get it out. Out of frustration/desperation, (It had sentimental value) I called an arborist. Mike, the owner came out and gave me an extremely reasonable price. Today his 2 man crew
came out with about a hundred foot basket and the plane was down in less than 10 minutes.
I can't speak well enough of him and his crew. Thank you Mike, it is truly appreciated.

Join AMA with a Full Membership and abide by all rules. (Park Flyer membership will not be accepted.)

Register with FAA under the Exception for Limited Recreational Operations and abide by all rules. (“Home built” aircraft satisfies for aircraft type on registration application)

Take The Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST) (Easy test, Answers are provided. Allow 20 – 30 minutes)

Fill out New Member application (or if Renewing, PRCF Renewal )

PayPal Dues to: Palomarrcf@gmail.com

PRCF will send you a Welcome Letter and Membership Card + Aircraft Labels to attach to the outside of your airplanes.)

Post the Aircraft ID Label on the outside of all your RC Aircraft.

Read/abide by the PRCF bylaws and Flying Site rules.

Meet with a Club Instructor at the field to review of the Field and Flight procedures. He will issue a Gate Key Card.
FAA Renewal
For those of you who are coming up on their FAA Registration renewal process, the FAA changed things slightly back in 2022 and now want an aircraft of some sort attached to the registration.

Make sure you read through the process completely BEFORE you start, as you may need to skip certain steps if you are RENEWING your registration!!!

Come and enjoy our Club Events! We have a varied list of Events throughout the year with great fun to be had by club members, family, visitors and friends. One of the most popular is the Combat Trifecta, combat wings at it's best! We have regular Sail Plane soaring events and other forms of entertainment. If you have a family and would like to spend some time just watching the events please join us to enjoy the beauty of the planes, the carnage of the combat and the occasional walk of shame, Come join us and see!!!

Flying Field
We have a 600'x40' asphalt runway, four separate helicopter pads, a pit area with tables and chairs, toilet facilities, plenty of parking, and an RV parking area (no facilities).
Johnson Field is located on about 70 acres on the Northeast corner of the intersection of I-15 and State Highway 76. We are about 16 miles North of Escondido on I-15. From I-15, take Highway 76 East towards Pala less than 1/2 mile and turn North on Pankey Rd. Enter the Palomar Flying site through the green gate. On weekdays, members must have a key to unlock the gate. The gate is open on weekends and holidays from about 8am to 1pm or when events are scheduled. The public is welcome to come and visit us during those hours. If you are interested in joining, come out anytime – mornings are the most active period. We have separate flying sites on the property devoted to RC airplanes and RC helicopters.

With great sadness we say goodbye to Elise Schneider. Elise has been a fixture on the flight line for many years. Elise passed away December 7. We will miss her wonderful smile and pleasant hello she had for everyone.
